This book is a window into 80’s subculture in a seaside tourist town on the Mediterranean coast. Living on our wits and skills we weren’t outlaws, but were most certainly outsiders. Shunned by some, and the authorities, we found our own path and filled the niches left open to us.
Life could be tough and unforgiving, but this was also a place of opportunity, and we would make it our own. I look back on the struggles and the achievements that eventually led to us and a handful of friends earning the self-proclaimed title Kings of the Beach.
40 years on Jerry and I still look back on this as ‘the best job we’ve ever had’. I really hope you enjoy it and get a sense of our lives that were.
